Shiza Shahid, Executive Director

Shiza is a junior at Stanford University, majoring in International Relations and minoring in History. Shiza is passionate about political reform, social justice, and poverty alleviation. Shajar-e-Ilm is a platform from where she she can inspire youth to be more creative, progressive, and compassionate.

Mariam Raza Zaidi, Joint Director

Mariam holds her Masters degree in International Relations from Quaid-e-Azam
University Islamabad and a certification in Humantarian Law from ICRC.  Passionate about Public Speaking, she overtly speaks upon political, social, human rights, socio-economic and poverty alleviation issues on various National and International platforms. she has represented Pakistan on numerous International conferences.Shajar-e-Ilm stands as a platform or her to help support the under-priviliged to excel in life and to learn from them the true colours, traditions and experiences of
Pakistan

Meeha Irfan, Project Coordinator 

Meeha is studying to get her undergraduate degree in Communication and Media Studies at Loughborough University. She is passionate about education and child rights. She enjoys working in Shajar-e-Ilm as she finds great satisfaction in social welfare work, and loves working with children.

Madihah Akhter, Overseas Officer

Madihah completed her BA in History with Honors from the University of California, Los Angeles. Madihah intends to get her doctorate in contemporary South Asian history (with an emphasis on Pakistan) and hopes to become a professor. Madihah is excited to be working with Sharaj-e-Ilm,a group that stands for everything she believes in- creative, two-way learning and a child's right to a proper education.

Amna Malik, Overseas Officer

Amna is currently a Sophomore at McGill University pursuing a degree in Political Science and Economics. Shajar-e-ilm falls in with Amna's ideals for a better society where the youth can bring about positive change which is why she is committed to its cause. Books, Debates and Photography have always been of special interest to her.

Asfandyar Ali Mir, Overseas Officer

Asfandyar is a sophomore at Stanford University, majoring in Economics. Asfandyar is interested in politics, international relations and socio-economic development issues. Asfandyar considers Shajar e Ilm a vital initiative for empowering and inspiring the youth of Pakistan and by being part of it he aims to further ideals of progression and pluralism that can bring about a positive social change.

 Maliha Tariq, Project Coordinator

Maliha Tariq is a junior at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) where she is studying political science. She is an avid reader and also likes to write and travel. Maliha is proud to be a part of Shajar-e-Ilm as it has given her a tremendous learning opportunity while allowing her to represent the concerned and active youth of Pakistan.

Madeeha Ansari is currently pursuing a BSC in Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has immense faith in the power of the written word.

Anam Zehra, Volunteer Coordinator

Anam Zehra will commence her freshman year at Mount Holyoke
this spring. She is an amateur singer/songwriter, guitarist, and writer. She loves World History, Contemporary Literature, Modern Languages, Pink Floyd and Dorothy Parker. Her experiences with Shajar-e-Ilm have reiterated her resolve
to be a staunch advocate of activism and social justice

Zaynah Gilani, Administrator, Project Coordinator

Zaynah is pursueing a bahelor's degree in development economics and international relations from Bahria university. She is interested in socio-economic development issues and wants to focus on policy making for education, health and other development sectors. Shajar-e-ilm has given her an oppurtunity to channel the capabilities as the youth in Pakistan in a well meaning and purposeful direction. Zaynah invities others in her cause to serve the nation for a better future.
